It's like confetti, I explain. Feminism, like confetti, is one of those words that needs to be understood as plural, plain and simple. You don't throw one piece of confetti in the air to celebrate. (Well, technically, one could do this, yes, but that would not be very festive.) Similarly, you don't just celebrate feminism with with one strand of thought. Feminism must be seen, recognized, as plural - as a collective movement - if we are to accurately and justifiably claim a movement is actually taking place.

A new publication about sex/sexuality in Pakistani society from a feminist and gender-inclusive perspective has entered the publishing world. Read Bitch contributor Sarah Seltzer's interview with Chay magazine founders Kyla Pasha and Sarah Suhail in the current issue of INTHEFRAY magazine, an online magazine focused on identity and community.

After the Allied Media Conference is over, I'll be driving back from Detroit to Portland, stopping for more Bitch fundraising/outreach/discussions along the way. As before, I'm hoping to organize a fundraiser (a house party, dance party, music show, tap dance off, whatever) and a Feminism In/Action discussion in each city.

Please join these participatory discussions about how—and whether—feminism can become a transformative, justice-centered movement for social change.

• How can we drive attention to the power, privilege, and marginalization that continue to play out in feminist communities, and how can those of us with power and privilege become genuine and effective allies to those without it?
• How can we collectively create a feminist/media/justice movement that doesn't rely on white supremacy, class privilege, and economic exploitation?
• Can the idea of feminism shift to foreground an uncompromising, transformative commitment to systemic social change, or is it time to evolve to new language?
